A platform dedicated to international students in the US catering to their daily needs. The platform will provide essential services for international students, such as housing, food, transportation, connecting with local international students, and information about local events. Additionally, it will offer visa processing services, employment opportunities, and networking events to help students navigate their journey towards obtaining permanent residency in the US.

Despite the availability of resources, there is a lack of a comprehensive platform that addresses their diverse needs and provides essential services tailored to their unique circumstances. Food services, transportation, and cultural integration support would also be provided. This platform would offer legal assistance, financial aid info, and health resources tailored to international students' needs. By bringing everything together in one place, it would make life easier and help students succeed.

This user research aimed to gain insights on needs, experiences and challenges faced by international students in the US, with a focus on evaluating a new platform designed to cater to their daily needs. We observed that international students rely heavily on multiple online platforms and digital tools to seek information, connect with others, and access essential services.


The research employed a mixed-method approach, combining qualitative and quantitative techniques to gather comprehensive data. This included surveys distributed among international student communities and we have taken the interview of 50 new and existing international students to identify variation in results.

Following the development of the high-fidelity prototype, I conducted usability testing sessions with to identify areas of improvement and validate the app’s overall user experience. These sessions were designed to assess ease of navigation, clarity of features, and responsiveness of the interface. By analyzing participants' interactions, I was able to identity critical pain points and areas for enhancement. This process also uncovered features that resonated well with users, allowing me to refine the app to better align with user expectations.

Users found the app’s flow intuitive, enabling them to seamlessly complete tasks without unnecessary steps.


Users appreciated the use of consistent visual elements and icons, which enhanced the overall sense of familiarity.


Participants suggested incorporating a dark mode option for better accessibility and comfort during nighttime use.


Participants wanted to interact with the "Housing", "Visa Processing" and "Events" features.


Participants appreciated about the concept and expressed high interest to use the app if launched.
